Selena Quintanilla Perez (Spanish pronunciation"se'lena Kinta'nija Peres" April 16, 1971 - March 31, 1995) was an American Tejano singer. Her contribution to fashion and music have made her the "Queen" of Tejano music. She is one of the most prominent Mexican-American entertainers of late 20th century. Billboard magazine placed her third on their list of "Greatest Latino Artists" basing their selection on Latin albums and Latin charts of songs.
